CaliSober Recovery
Mission & Overview

CaliSober Recovery is more than a recovery program or a twelve steps program—it’s a movement redefining what healing looks like in the modern world. Rooted in neuroscience, trauma-informed care, and peer-based services, CaliSober believes that recovery isn’t just about abstinence. It’s about realignment with one’s true self, building mindful habits, achieving a spiritual awakening, and creating space for healing through all pathways—including plant-based and harm reduction approaches.

Founded by Quinn Lapeyre, CaliSober represents a new wave of recovery: inclusive, empowering, and grounded in lived experience. We provide accessible support for those who feel unseen by traditional models, offering judgment-free spaces for growth, community, and transformation. It is our belief that healing and recovery should be accessible to anyone

What “CaliSober” Means

While the term "CaliSober" originally described individuals using plant medicines like cannabis and psilocybin in their recovery, the CaliSober Recovery Program goes beyond that. It emphasizes intentional, trauma informed, individualized care, meeting each person where they are and supporting their path to freedom, whether through abstinence, mental health medications, cannabis therapy or medical assisted recovery (MAR). The focus is on improving quality of life, rather than the idea that everyone fits into the same recovery model.

Our Purpose

At CaliSober, we believe that healing begins with radical self-acceptance—of our past, our struggles, and the possibility of transformation. Our purpose is to support every person in finding their own version of a healthy, balanced life. We create spaces for honest conversations, shared experiences, and growth—spaces where no one is judged for how they choose to heal.

We also recognize the powerful role that plant medicines can play in the journey of healing and recovery. CaliSober welcomes those who seek to explore and integrate the wisdom of plant medicines as part of their personal path. We honor the ancient and modern practices of these natural allies, and we provide resources and community support to navigate these experiences safely and intentionally.

At CaliSober, our mission is simple: healing belongs to everyone. We believe recovery should be accessible, inclusive, and rooted in real human connection by connecting to real people who’ve walked the path, guiding others with compassion, honesty, and lived experience. Whether you're just beginning or finding your way back, we’re here to meet you where you are and walk beside you as you grow, heal, and reclaim your life. No judgment. No barriers. Just a safe space to recover, together.

The Power of Community

At the heart of everything we do is community. We know that no one heals in isolation. Real recovery blossoms in the fertile ground of connection—when we find others who see us, hear us, and stand beside us in our vulnerability. CaliSober is more than a 12-step  program or a sober living home; it’s a place to belong. Our community of over one million individuals across Australia, Canada, and the United States offers a network of mutual support, where we share tools, insights, and encouragement. In this space, healing isn’t a solitary mission—it’s a collective journey that uplifts us all.

Healing Out Loud

At CaliSober, we believe in Healing Out Loud—the idea that sharing our stories, struggles, and successes can break the stigma surrounding recovery. When we speak openly about our experiences, we give others permission to do the same. We create ripples of hope, connection, and understanding in a world that often meets vulnerability with silence.

Healing Out Loud means rejecting shame and embracing authenticity. It’s about finding power in your voice and using it to inspire others—and yourself. In our community, your story matters, and it has the potential to heal not just you, but the world around you.

What We Offer

Here, you’ll find more than just resources—you’ll find belonging. Our programs offer access to zoom and face to face meetings, peer mentorship, harm-reduction strategies, community outreach and integration, peer support specialist services, sessions with healers, plant ceremony integration, education, a 12-step program, and a supportive community where you can explore what wellness truly means for you in an INDIVIDUALIZED way. Whether you’re seeking guidance, connection, or a safe space to share your story, CaliSober is here to walk with you—no matter what your journey looks like.

Recovery isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress, honesty, and building a life worth living. At CaliSober, you don’t have to do it alone. We DO recover.

Quinn Lapeyre

Founder & CEO

Hi, my name is Quinn Lapeyre, and I want to share a bit of my journey with you. I was born in Carcassonne, France, a medieval city surrounded by castle walls in the south of France. When I was three, my parents divorced, and my mother moved my brother and me to Utah. I learned to speak English by watching cartoons and playing with neighborhood kids, adapting quickly to a new culture. Early on, I faced challenges that shaped my understanding of the world. As a child, I experienced sexual trauma, bullying, and feelings of abandonment that I struggled to put into words, and because of that, I carried deep emotional pain for many years. Without the right tools to process what I had been through, I internalized feelings of confusion and isolation, which followed me into adolescence. By the time I was a teenager, I had attended four different schools in four years. I felt disconnected and alone, struggling to find my place. Eventually, I fell in with a group of friends who introduced me to substances, and I began using them as a way to escape my emotions rather than face them.

Then, after a surgery, I was prescribed opioids, and for the first time, the emotional noise in my head quieted. I wasn’t seeking a high—I was

seeking relief. That moment set me on an 18 year spiral of substance dependence, where I constantly searched for ways to numb the pain I hadn’t confronted. During this time, I experienced incredible highs and devastating lows. I lost close friends, found myself in dangerous situations, and kept making choices that pulled me further away from the person I wanted to be. No matter how many times I tried to stop, I felt trapped in a cycle I couldn’t escape.

Then came the moment that changed everything. At my lowest point, I found myself completely alone, feeling like I had nowhere left to turn. In desperation, I looked up—to God, the Universe, or whatever force was out there—and I prayed:

“Either take my life, or give me the strength to change, because I can’t do this anymore.”

Something inside me shifted. For the first time in a long time, I reached out to my family and asked for help. They had always supported me when I was ready, and this time, I was ready to do something different. I didn’t just want to stop using—I wanted to heal.

Healing the Inner Child

After 30 days sober, I entered a sober living program, but I quickly realized that traditional recovery models didn’t fully address what I was going through. I wasn’t just battling substance use—I was carrying years of unresolved pain, emotional wounds, and a deep disconnect from myself.

I started searching for alternative healing modalities, seeking something beyond the conventional approaches. I explored:

- Chakras & Energy Work

– Understanding how emotions are stored in the body

- Yoga & Breathwork

– Using movement and breath to regulate emotions

- Holistic Healing

– Mindful approaches to mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness

- Sound Healing & Frequency Work

– The power of vibration in emotional balance

- Mindfulness & Inner Child Work

– Learning to sit with the past instead of running from it

One of the most profound moments in my healing journey came through a guided spiritual experience.

For years, I had tried to move forward without fully facing my past, but this experience allowed me to connect with my inner child for the first time. I saw myself—the younger me, waiting to be heard, waiting to be acknowledged. In that moment, instead of running from the emotions, I sat with them. I told that younger version of myself,

“I see you. I believe you. And you are safe now.”

That moment changed everything. It allowed me to release the deep shame and self doubt I had carried for so long. More importantly, it allowed me to begin the real work of forgiveness, self compassion, and healing.

From that point forward, my recovery was no longer about avoiding relapse—it was about rebuilding myself from the inside out.

The Birth of CaliSober Recovery

As I continued my journey, I realized something: recovery is not one-size-fits-all. For years, I had struggled to fit into traditional models of healing, but once I started creating my own path, everything changed.

I knew there were others like me—people who wanted to heal but didn’t resonate with conventional programs. So, I created CaliSober Recovery, a program that integrates:
- Holistic healing approaches
- Neuroscience-based recovery techniques
- Trauma informed support systems
- Flexible, inclusive pathways to personal transformation

CaliSober Recovery Program isn’t just about quitting substances—it’s about healing at the root. It’s about helping people reconnect with themselves, rewrite their stories, and create a future that feels worth living.

A Mission for the Future
CaliSober Recovery is more than a program—it’s a movement. It’s a space where people can heal without shame, without rigid rules, and without judgment. The vision for CaliSober extends beyond meetings—it includes holistic recovery centers, guided healing retreats, and a future where recovery is about transformation, not just abstinence.

My goal is to share my story through retreats and seminars, to show people that healing is possible, no matter how lost they feel. I want to help others find their way back to themselves, just as I did.

I used to think my past defined me. Now, I realize it prepared me.

I am not just a survivor—I am a healer, a mentor, and a builder of new possibilities.

My story is proof that no matter how far you’ve fallen, there is always a way forward. Healing is messy, painful, and terrifying at times—but on the other side of that pain is freedom.

If you’re looking for a new way to recover, heal, and thrive — CaliSober Recovery is here for you.
Let’s break the cycle together.
